I hear the Saab 9-2 was pretty nippy and handled quite well too

I used to love driving my dad's Vector 2.3t (until I got my vRS- the Saab doesnt feel that fast anymore!) I still like it though' date=' still go for the odd drive round the block when he's not looking. Its not too bad round corners because he specced it with the sports chassis and it already has the 17s/smaller tyres fitted.

Mate the 2.3t's are 180bhp as standard.... in a straight line they are more than a match for a standard VRS, then again I can only comment about the acceleration of the auto box in sport mode..... which transformed the car totally

The new ones look quite good as long as they are in Silver..... can't see all that exessive chrome then!

The first car I drove at 17 was my dad's 9000 2.3t which I believe had about 230bhp. Loved it Nearly killed myself in it :thumbdwn: But still like them. The turbo ended up getting a little sticky though coming in. He PXed it against his first ever Skoda - an Octy TDI on S plate - the first year Octys came out

The auto box was just mad.... put it sport mode and floor it and all hell just broke lose !!!! It was out of control..... just sad I never got to drive a manual one :( would have been nice to have more control.... rather than just point it in the vague direction you wanted to go, floor it and recite the Lords prayer numerous times !!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest that's why I like the Fabia so much, its very similar in terms of straight line accelertion as the 2.3t.

Does your Dad deal with Lytham St Annes Saab then? They are a top little dealership if ever ther was one.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Saab now offer a remap type of thing as an optional extra now..... My Dad's quite pi$$ed that he wasn't aware of remaps until he got rid of his now

Yeah he uses St Annes Saab. They've always sorted out the warranty claims with no trouble, free courtesy cars etc The car wasnt even bought from there! They are an MG specialist aswell which have done work on my mum's (soon to go) MGF. Good bunch of people, even though the usual Saab prices still apply lol.
