Hi All, first time user on the site and already looking for information! I have a 02 1.4L Octavia which I'm over the moon about. Its due a service very shortly and I was just wondering does the service indicator which appears on the odometer prior to starting the car, disappear after the service is complete or do I have to reset something?

Love the site and found it very helpful when I recently fit a towbar!

The service indicator should be reset by the garage when they service the car. If it is not reset then a gentle reminder should suffice as they may have forgotten to do it.

Hi David and thanks a lot for your reply. However, I do hope to do the service myself tomorrow, its just oil, oil filter, plugs etc. so I'm hoping it will reset itslf at this stage. Hi also to Octav.ed and all who replied. Just wondering where the bowling is taking place on the 29th?

There is information on page 64 of the Octavia Owner's Manual on how to reset the service interval display manually.

Hi Mark 1 and welcome to Briskoda.

According to the manual, switch off the ignition and press the reset **** of the trip counter below the speedometer and hold.

Switch on the ignition and release the reset ****. The message "service or service now" appears in the display.

Turn the **** for setting the clock to the right until the message is reset and thats how to reset the service indicator!
