Can someone help me understand service intervals (sorry)

Featured Replies

I have the following service intervals showing up.

the car is on 86000 miles and its a 2013 vrs tsi. How do I know when the major service is due? I’m guessing the inspection service misses out on sparks and fuel filter etc.

I’ve only had the car 12 months and done 10,000 miles on it.

Because I have a clean oil OCD i have already changed the oil twice myself once when i got it and another 6,000 miles later. I like the change the oil myself in between service intervals.

Thank you!

The screen you are looking at is based on the assumption that you are on either a fixed or variable service and then based on how you drive your car etc.

Based on the inspection/oil service dates, I would hazard a guess you have it set on variable service (2 years) but ultimately you need to look at the owners manual to get the service intervals and base it on the age/mileage of the car.

most brands seem to be going down this route.

2years OR Approx 20,000 miles between services.

those doing more miles like myself end up with a yearly service, where those that dont going as long as two years,

This normally rotates between small (oil and filter Change) and a major (all filters spark plugs etc on Petrols.

I have work round Mercedes Commercials most of 12/13years in the trade and not noticed any ill effects from this.
