Blower motor failure. Dealer job.

Featured Replies

Last Wednesday 8th while out and about, blower motor failed to switch on. Nothing from 1 to 4 on the speed control knob.  Took the blower fan out when I got home and connected it to a separate 12v supply and that works just fine.  So took out motor resistor. It didn't look in way overheated scorched etc but have put a new one in anyway. Connected all up and still no fan switching on.  Took out heater control panel and checked the speed control switch, all contacts have continuity. Also there is continuity from the control switch pins in the connector to the pins in the resistor connector pins.  Don't know if there is any switching involved from the CANBUS soI'm leaving it there and the car is booked in to my local workshop next week.  The battery went flat while I was attempting to check for any power in the cables in and out of the fuse box and to the speed control switch. Then also I have created an airbag light to come on in disconnecting the glove box wiring to access the fan. What an aggravation.
