Noisy Karoq

Featured Replies

Hi.

Our Karoq is quite noisy to drive. Especially windnoise - seems to come from the windows... Has anyone else experienced this? I know that taller cars tend to have more windnoise, but ours have extremely much. Driving more than 100 km/h is painfull.

Noise from engine is also a lot louder than from our previous Octavias. Sometimes we were unsure, if the motor was running (only a look at the rpm could tell), but now you are never in doubt.

No wind noise even 120 km/h...

But in our local forum, similar problem was solved by re-adjusting the driver door alignment at the dealer.

Which engine do you have? Recently drove 364km to Heathrow Airport in our 1.5Tsi manual Karoq SEL on 2 separate occasions at the permitted limit in the UK which is 112kph and experienced no wind noise and very little engine noise either at indicated 2,250rpm in 6th gear.:)

My humble 1.0 L is also very quiet at the uk legal limit, haven't noticed any wind noise, totally different from the Fabia I had before.

Our 1.5 SEL is much quieter than the previous diesel Octavia so much so that on its first trip I called into see a friend leaving the boss in the car, and when returning several minutes later discovered that I had inadvertently left the engine idling as it was so quiet.

We have the 1,5 TSI DSG model.

Happy to hear that it seems there could be a problem with ours that can be fixed (if it is alignment of the drivers door). It is going to the dealer soon (engine software update, drivers seat creaking among other things).
