225/r18 wide tyres/wheels on a fabia

Featured Replies

Ive been offered some wheels with 225 wide tyres on an 18inch wheel. All demon tweeks and other alike say is yep they will go on go problem but iam unsure. Has anyone put this size wheel/tyre on there fabia vrs. Also the car is lowered on eibach pro dampers and springs. The wheels are cheap but i still want them to go on with 100% no problems.

Cheers in advance.

Tyre size should be 215/35/18. Thats what i am running on my fabia also lowered on eibach.

If they are 225 the profile needs to be 30 but only BF Goodrich make that tyre at around £135 each. Knowing Demon Tweeks they will be selling you 225/40/18 (ok for octy/golf) but to big for a fabia as speedo will be way out.

Other than the speedo being miles out (which i can live with :)), what are the other problems with 225/40's on fabia please, thanks.

What about the wheel width and offset? I've got 8" x 17" ET 30, which don't catch on full lock. The tread doesn't stick out beyond the arches either (just!).

18 x 8 ET38 i think

I'm running 215X35X18 also and I would definitly not recommend running anything larger, I'm fairly certain you will get rubbing issues.

The wheels will also be a lot heavier than standard - worse performance.

Its not the width thats the problem, its the profile, 225/40 18's deffo do not fit, tried them today
