Featured Replies

Hi

Had my new Dell computer delivered earlier in the week

and have spent the last few days transfering all my

programmes / files etc etc ....... then discovered there

is nowhere to connect my hp4 laserjet

does anyone know if its possible to buy an adaptor

to convert to a usb .. I have my epson r800 but

like to use the laserjet for general printing......

its 10 years old but still prints as good as when it was

new

thanks in advance for any sensible suggestions :D

desktop: buy pci parallel port

laptop: buy a usb printer or a jetdirect card for the HP4 and print via network.

Look for a USB to Centronics cable, I picked one up for about a tenner to connect my LaserJet 4 via USB - works very well!

thanks for info  ....... sorry for the delay . missed your reply

will take a look in pc world or on a website

If you have a network, I'd go for the better solution which is a JetDirect or a similar device.

I bought a 'similar device' in that it's a parallel port plug one end, and it takes it's power supply + a network lead the 'other end'.

Works a treat and probably not a lot more expensive either :)
