Wind deflectors/problem with window

Featured Replies

I fitted some HEKO window deflectors to my mk2 recently and everything is fine apart from the passenger side window button will not work when trying to put the window down. The driver side button is able to put the the passenger window up and down absolutely fine and as long the passenger window is rolled down, i can use the passenger button to put it back up, just not down. This problem has only started to occur upon installing the deflectors, i have taken the passenger side off to see if it would solve the problem but it didnt. Im not sure what i’ve done, i thought it could be the switch thats broken but it still works for putting the window up just not down so im stuck.

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Most of the time, when window fail to operate, it is the wiring in the door loom. Look at the wires inside BOTH front door bellows carefully for broken/snapping wires. Otherwise as you say, the switch might have become damaged. They are not overly expensive to get spare ones of but if not buying genuine, make sure its Skoda green and not VW red illumination inside it. most cheap ones are red.
