Hi folks thanks to this forum I managed to find out about the 11point goodwill gesture from Skoda so got my EGR and exuast centre fixed free of charge so thanks....but after less than 100 miles coil warning light came on and put me in limp home mode and now I can't start the car ....am I just super unlucky that another faults developed in that space of time or is there a link after this work has been done ? Given it's less than 100 miles, it does suggest the garage did something wrong.

 

Get it towed back for them to take a look!

Got them to stick it on the diagnostic machine tomorrow morning.

I reckon it'll be glow plugs which seems a coincidence but don't think I'll be able to prove they've done something wrong so probably have to pay some cash out .... nightmare

A recent CR diesel will start with faulty glowplugs and the chance of all four failing is unlikely!

 

They have done something wrong - don't suggest to them otherwise

And in the weather we are in it most likely won't be using glow plugs at all. Product I work on has glow plugs but we don't use them until ambient is just below freezing. 

 

We have been happily running a big engine without glow plugs over the winter in sub 5c ambient.
