External CD Player but no AUX input

Featured Replies

I know this subject comes up regularly, but I couldn't find the answer I wanted, so here goes.

I miss my CD player in my 2017 Octavia Technology! It has the Amundsen headunit with built in satnav. It also has no aux input.

So I tried to connect my trusty portable CD player to car via a cheap bluetooth transmitter with line-in input from Amazon. It worked on Bluetooth speakers in the house, but would not connect to the car system. Both the car and the transmitter claim to work on AD2P profiles, but there must be some incompatibility I'm not aware of.

Does a solution exist where you can line into some kind of adaptor which will connect to the car via Bluetooth? I know about the FM adaptors but I'm after better sound quality than they tend to provide.

Would be really grateful for any advice / experience.

You could convert your CD's into MP3's and put them on an SD card?

Most SD cards can hold 100's of albums this way :)

I have done that with a lot of my CDS, although I have a very big collection. Plus I miss using the physical media. Sad isn't it? 😂

Certainly seems more hassle than its worth! I hate having CDs hanging around the car! Such an annoyance.

Does the Octavia not have an aux input or MDI with 3.5mm connection?
