I'd thought that I'd posted this before ,asking for help, but I cant find my post and I hope litlle kitties are safe. Basically the middle seat belt on the rear ( middle one ), going back into two person bench has gone solid. So MOT fail, come next MOT. Any suggestions how to cure. PITA, as we never carry  more than one rear seat passenger + dog in a harness linked to belt.

Is it an estate? I didn't know Fabias had a reel type belt in the middle of the back seat. Mine's just the fixed type.

1.4tdi hatch . Mid seat belt is reel ,and reel is located inside the guts of the rear ( 2 person ) rear portion. Mine had decided to stick in fully retracted position . Only solution I can see is to unbolt from lower fixing and see if belt returns enough to slacken off, but i thought I’D ask the audience.

As I do not use this middle belt, I'd thought of dropping rear seats to make the rear area as in total hatch, before MOT. Seats down, tester reports advisory as "Unable to check rear belts as rear seats down". I've had it before with child seats fitted. Advisory was "unable to check rear belt- child seat fitted ". Any views on this?

Unfortunately there's no result for the problem. Any more or cure ,as it sounds similar to my problem.

I assume the seat is folding down ok?

Yep- mate- both seats fold down and go back up. I've tried putting the double section down and slamming it back up, but middle belt still stays firm. No seat not locked alarms either. As said, I never travel with three in the back these days. It's mostly dog on one side and possibly grand son on the other. Middle belt& seat is never used. But it's fitted so little man with hammer( MOT TESTER) will say if fitted it must work. As I see it my options for MOT are either remove seat + belt or take car in with rear seats in down position. Or remove centre belt and fixings, returning belt into rear seat. But then car is registered on V5 as a 5 seater, so with only 4 belts it's not as on V5.

Remove the seat, pop the cover off, you’ll probably find the locking mech for when the seat is down needs looking it.

PHEW- finally got round to it today. But first I tried it to see if it was still stuck. It wasn't. I remember putting the double seat down to get rid of a chunk of next doors jungle of trees. But in meantime , it's been cold/cool  enough to leave madam mechanic ( rescue JRT/Yorky) in the car to go shopping. Madam has a Yorkshire hissy fit if left and I suspect her jumping on the squab has freed the sticking parts.

She's available fo rhire for others with a stuck rear middle seat belt 😎

techie- have a look and let her melt a heart .She can jump 5 ft or more , but her favourit jump is from floor to my knee.
