mounted a net protecting the climate cooler from rocks - your opinon, please?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

the climate cooler is sitting right behind the huge openings, small stones can easily fly through and puncture the cooler leading to cost of about 600-1k€.

Therefore I mounted a net from the VW Golf (?) right onto the cooler (protecting the hollow pipes) and an additional net across the openings secured with zip tie.

Each net opening of the front net now is 20mm wide (longest distance) and about 8mm in width (longest).

Additionally this net slightly redirects the air flow, because the mesh is pointing a bit to the side. I could feel this when I had the net in my hands blowing onto it.

I therefore mounted this net so the airflow is slightly redirected downwards to the street. I could have it mounted 180° reversed, leading to an airflow slightly redirected to the hood.

Do you think the cooler is now protected enough against small rocks on the road or should i do something else?

Do you think the air flow is drastically different to stock? Should I mount it 180° reversed blowing a bit upwards?
