Hi Everyone - Can someone help please. Our 2011 Octavia has an issue (first in ages to be fair) - 

 

The airbag light comes on at start up, and the horn/other electrics are not working.  I was hoping it would be a fuse - but I tink it's worse than that.

 

Can anyone provide some assistance please?

Fault code scan, see if there is communication with the column control unit.

Do you have diagnostic equipment that can read the control units?

Hi again Tech1e.  I do not - So I'll have to take it somewhere to get looked at. 

 

I've done a little more research and it sounds like it is the clock spring that is broken and needs replacing

That is the most likely candidate but a diagnostic computer will be needed to clear the fault code anyhow.
