HPFP?? And other things

Featured Replies

Thought I'd check on here what you guys think before I fork out some money.

This is all for my 2007 2.0tfsi. I have only covered 3k miles since owning it.

It has currently done 115k and in the past 3000 miles I have had it serviced with oil, air and fuel filters and new spark plugs. PCV valve has been replaced and has latest revision. I have also had the Cambelt and water pump changed. The cam lobes and followers have been inspected for wear and reported back as ok.

The engine always runs cool. Dials show about 70 and if temp taken off ECU it shows similar. Engine warms up at a similar time to my mk1 fabia vrs. Fuel economy is around the 35mpg average mark. I have assumed the thermostat is stuck open so will probably get this changed next month.

Occasionally when accelerating the engine will feel laboured. This usually happens about 50+mph when in 3/4 gear. Almost like it has run out of puff. This has happened less than 10 times in the last 3k miles and varies in RPM and throttle.

I have also had the fault code P2293 Fuel pressure regulator valve randomly appear twice but not when experiencing other problems. I was able to delete the code straight away on both occasions and I haven't seen it again for 2.5k miles. VW indy has suggested the valve needs replacing but needs replacing with the whole pump. Which cost me a shade under £400 fitted. I've not been able to get the code up again to inspect the measuring blocks properly.........

I occasionally get a high pitched rattle/whistle not consistent and no pattern to RPM or loading the engine. It is the same pitch and doesn't get louder. Only does it whilst moving. I can rev like a madman when stationary and get nothing. Could this be linked to any of my other problems?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Hi sorry to revive old thread but I'm having similar issue. Remapped my car, and now when i put my foot down it hesitates to accelerate, and when going above 80 ish, i sometimes go into limp mode.

P2293 code came up eventually after I was pushing it really hard.

Did you ever discover the issue? Cheers

Hiya.

Bit the bullet and had the hpfp and cam follower changed along with thermostat. Came to £600

Havent had the p2293 code since but still having hesitation and now getting codes relating to LPFP. Have since changed crank senaor, LPFP sensor and controller but still not solved problem. Just getting different codes.
