Fabia 1.2 Oil Change Sump Plug?

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 1.2 HTP 12v '54' plate and want to do a mid service oil change (I'm not 100% convinced the oil was actually changed at the 10K service during the cars previous life, but thats another story.) Its at 15K miles just now.

From other threads in this forum I have the info for swapping the oil filter - and the process to avoid possible leaks during that task. I have a genuine replacement filter.

Question is - on looking for the sump plug to drain the oil I see two 6mm plugs, each with a black plastic attachment, plus between these another slightly lower panel with two bolts. Which is the sump plug for the engine oil? Or is it elsewhere?

Without the workshop manual (doesn't exist in English yet) its hard to guess.

Finally, I've got 5W30 partially synthetic oil - all I could actually acquire.

Will this be OK? The spec says fully synthetic 5W30.

thanks,
