I started trying to remove exhaust tips on my vRs so could respray but screws on both sides rusted / crusted up. 

 

If if I remove the bumper are the tips attached to the bumper or the car?

Well ive given up. Screws turning on one fixing points but not coming out. One screw the head had already gone so makes me think the previous owner tried and failed to spruce them up.

 

One other fixing point the plastic came away -hoping three fixing points will be sufficient to hold it on.  

 

ive admitted defeat. Sad face. Contemplated bumper off but not enough time to do it. Even if I do get the bumper off two screws are stuck.

I did mine a couple of months ago and for want of a better word, they are a b******

I decided I didn't want to start removing bumpers, so armed with numerous implements, a torch that would sit happily in my mouth, WD40 - I started the process.

After an hour I gave up, 4 screws on each side and some really small areas to get hands in.

 

I went back to it the following weekend and after nearly two hours I got them off - they have subsequently been sprayed up in black and fitted back to the car - took about 45 minutes to get them back on.

 

I'm sure bumper off would make life a lot easier, but I really didn't fancy removing that - but without, give yourself a couple of hours and if a screw won't go, move to the next and go back.

I've done it with the bumper on and it is incredibly fiddly but possible, you need a few small torx drivers.
