started to get a intermittent knock from front end both lower wishbones and ball joints replaced.new strut and top strut bearing replaced and sway bar.no knocking when driving at speed only when starting off and on a lock feels like coming from footwell area.tyre wear is normal and no juddering from steering.

hah - I have the same... It also happens when backing up after driving forward or when setting off forward after having backed up.

 

Some say it could be an engine mount?

Have a look at your CV joints

They already did. I was there, nothing strange.
