Swimming in my Yeti!

Featured Replies

Sorry all, it’s been a while since I posted anything. In fact years. In part because the Yeti has performed faultlessly in the now six years of ownership.

HOWEVER  - this last few days I noticed water on the front passenger rubber mat. On further investigation, the carpet underneath was sitting in water. Have tried to soak up as much as possible (1 1/2 kitchen rolls worth), but as we are away from home, I am limited as to what else can be done just now. Yes the car has a panoramic sun roof. Door seals appear ok and well seated. No loss of radiator water.

would very much appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Blocked sunroof drain pipes.?quite a few posts on here for reference.

Cracked sunroof frame, thats been on here as well

If you have dried up most of the water, you could try getting a syringe and deliberately trying to make it wet again!  Open the sunroof and find one of the drains and identify where it should come out (there's threads on here with photos with headlining etc removed of the routing of the drain pipes and where the exit holes are).  Pump a syringe full of water into the first sunroof drain and check water comes out the correct hole at the bottom, repeat for the other drains until you find one that doesn't give up any water.  That will be the culprit, pop another few doses of water in and confirm the carpet is getting wetter.  If away from home you could then bung up that drain hole until you get back home and are able to get it fixed properly.

Thanks to Sad555  Kenfowler and widdershins. Have managed to tilt car both ways, with roof open, and on drivers side using a watering can, all comes out the round bung 3/4’s down the A post. However on the passenger (problem) side no water exits the bung outlet at all - goes straight under the carpet!

Having tried to see the drains in the sunroof frame, I had assumed their only to be one. Must read up on the threads now to see what you mean widdershins. Thank you.

Would appreciate some guidance please on how to find previous posts on this subject 🤔🤪

Thought I recognised you from M.A.S.C.!

You did.
My car was in the Introductions section a couple of months ago.
