Hatchbag Review

Featured Replies

So we recently welcomed a new member to the family - a one and a half year old golden Labrador who is absolutely lovely, but molts like a goodun!

Therefore I bought a cheap £11 boot liner off eBay and dug out my old floor mat from my Octavia hatch (now have the estate). I quickly realised that these were no match for the amount of hair a Labrador sheds, especially when excited in the boot of a car! This took me to search this forum for best boot protection and I found Hatchbag. Their website was extremely slick and surprised me in the fact you can tick the box to say you have the canton system and they build the boot liner to suit.

The hatch boot liner also does not fit perfectly in the estate, so a new one has been purchased, again from eBay as this doesn’t need to be anything special.

After a day or 2 of use it is already paying for itself and is one of the best fitting boot liners I have ever seen.

For anyone with a pet who regularly goes in their car, or they regularly use their boot for work and it often gets mucky, I would strongly recommend.

Thanks or that.  I've been meaning to do something about the things flying around my boot.  Is there an option for the adjustable floor?  Also, how does it attach?  Looks like some Velcro tabs among others.

Yes on the website you can select if you have a variable floor - https://www.hatchbag.co.uk/ you can use their configurator without actually purchasing anything, not sure what offerings they do for the variable floor model (maybe you can’t get the folding seat option, or the floor needs to be in its highest/ lowest setting), I’m sure their website will tell you as they show detailed fitting guides for you exact vehicle.

Basically, its all Velcro for the carpet - if you are going to remove it often they offer some additional Velcro pieces so you are not ripping your carpet up each time and ‘fluffing it’ as they describe. The pieces that can on the plastic are also Velcro, they provide sticky pads that you stick onto the plastic (be sure to clean the plastic first though with rubbing alcohol or similar else they dont stick) and then some tabs tie around the back of the headrest. There is no way it is coming out unless you peel each piece of Velcro though, very secure indeed. I opted for the option that allows the seats to split and the ski hatch to open without removing it, just to save hassle in the future!

Got one too but mine doesn't look as shiney anymore 😞

But do agree they are really good!

Keeping the hair off the s0ft furnishings is one thing, keeping the hair from becoming airborne is another! We have a basset hound, after he has been in the car theres hair on the dash, the clocks, the front carpets and everything.

I like the hatchbags, good for tip runs or carrying risky stuff. They look well made too.

Completely agree - after the first trip with our lab there was hair on the dashboard, so keeping on top of it is a necessity!!

Thats before we start with the slobber

I agree hatchbags are a good product.

Can I please ask what type of dog guard that is,because the load cover blind still fits, which is not the case with some.

Also,I believe what looks like a storage box in the recess on the left side of the boot is not standard,is it a Skoda option.

Dissapointed theres no picture of the dog........

Hi, yes sure, this is a Travall dog guard but it is the Hatch dog guard and not the estate one (i owned a hatch before the estate). The Travall Customer service team told me it would not fit.... but it fits pretty much perfectly. It has a slight wobble, until you put the cover blind back in and that really holds it in well.

Also the left side is the Canton subwoofer - standard option, storage is on the right. When you order a Hatchbag it asks you if you have a canton woofer, or 1/2 storage boxes and it is made to fit.

With the boot open she won’t sit still in there long enough for a picture, as soon as that boot opens she’s gone! I will try to get one though... maybe a floor full of treats will do the trick!
