I have a leak

Featured Replies

So after I parked up earlier, I noticed a trail of liquid leading under the car... had a look and yup, was dripping fairly fast from the engine bay. The car hasn't been overheating although the radiator fan has been on a bit today as its been close to 30, and the coolant level is still somewhat midway between max / min. I Couldn't see exactly where it was coming from as it appeared to be dripping from behind whatever covers the firewall on the passenger side  I popped a tissue under there to catch some drips, its clear and has no odour that I could detect... if it was coolant, i'd of expected a red tint? Maybe not. Any ideas? Will book it in with Skoda as its still under warranty but its a bit disappointing.

Have you got AC and was it on?

Any other fluid levels low?

Yep. Condensate from aircon evaporator. Normal.

Oh, yeah I did my climate controls always on auto. I knew the air con drips to some degree but I didn't expect that much and especially just dumping out like that!  Thought it'd be routed out somewhere 🤦‍♂️ Just to add, I haven't had a car with air con for about 10 years so let me off ;)

The hotter it is the more condensation you get.

I try to turn the AC off before i get to my destination.

Thanks AG Falco

It does no harm draining out any way.

Almost certainly aircon condensate. It's been exceptionally hot!
