Exhaust manifold to flap or not

Hi Briskodians 

 

I have been doing some research about the exhaust manifold on a Octavia VRS pd170 BMN engine. I have a 2008 and just been told it's a flap now I have seen that dark side do a replacement flapless one with all the gaskets and bolts. My question is I see some of you have already fitted them but these are some old posts is it worth doing and are there any down falls thanks in advance guys, Mike

No down sides what so ever the big plus side is nothing to fail and total your engine !!

That’s an inlet manifold not an exhaust one.
