Could be the cruise control speed reading. This changes to total mileage when the cruise control is in the off position.

Agree because I normally see the cruise control setting speed or symbol instead of the mileage bottom left.

Thanks. I did try that but the mph doesnt update in real time as it used to. So if i set the speed to 50 it stays at 50 even when i am slower or faster afterwards

When you set the speed it will displayed in the lower left corner, so that when you use the resume function the car will be back to the displayed speed. The displayed value does not change in 'real time'

I think you must have ACC and have turned the cruise control off, so the target speed is no longer showing

Is your cruise control on a small lower stalk on the left, have you moved the stalk forwards (towards the dashboard) or backwards (towards yourself)

Hi

For as long as i have owned the car the bottom left has displayed the speed in realtime.  Today it shows three dashes when cruise is on but not set.

I have just noticed that cc is no longer green when set.

I've never seen it display real-time speed there, or heard of it or seen it referenced anywhere.

it has been like that for my previous 3 skodas. that is why i have posted for help, my eye keeps looking there to see the speed and i'm struggling to train my eye to look elsewhere.

Surely if you are using the Sat Nav directions in the central maxidot space it's not too difficult to glance at the large analogue speedo dial to the right?

My mk2 Octavia used to display km's in the lower left corner.

I haven't seen speed there at all on a Mk3. It's either mileage, cruise speed or --- when cruise is on but not engaged. The logo only turns green when engaged.

Real time speed just in big numbers...

The mk2 appears to have had km/h there as a tweak, but I've not seen this on any of the (numerous) Mk3s I've driven.

There are some functions that can be changed by pressing the right thumbwheel, keeping it pressed down and scrolling.  (Example the mpg since start, since refill etc).  It changes different things to scrolling (without pressing down at same time).

Not sure which version you have, but scrolling the right thumbwheel has a speed display as one of the options.   On my car there is option in Infotainment (car, settings ....) to change the display choices by ticking and unticking boxes, which changes what appears as you scroll through

I’m not aware of the cruise control box ever displaying a live speed as opposed to the set or target speed.

To be honest I've never noticed if there's a digital speed displayed or not for that very reason. If you use your phone and turn on your wrist Garmin you could have four speed displays. :D

At Donington next Sunday I will be using the lap timer that came with the 245 and keep a quick glance at the rev counter to make sure I don't bounce into rev limiter in 2nd or 3rd gear.:tongueout:

Just for reference, switching between since start, since refuel etc. is achieved just by pressing the right scroll wheel, you don't need to hold it down and scroll at the same time.

Was this because the main spreedo didn't have KPH on.  UK spec cars must be capable of displaying MPH and KPH

Is a SPREE-DO like supermarket sweep where you have to spend as much as you can in the shortest possible time?:tongueout:
