2.0 Tsi Rocker cover Bolts

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

I'm in the middle replacing the seal on the rocker cover on my CCZA engine.

Can anyone tell me the torque settings and tightening procedure of the bolts?

Any help would greatly appreciated

Thank you

1) Hand Tighten bolts 1 through 6 in sequence in several stages

2) Tighten bolts 1 through 6 in sequence to 8 Nm

3) Tighten bolts 1 through 6 in sequence an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn).

Edit: Google "Golf Quick Reference Specification" and you'll find a .pdf with all the torque values, measurements, etc which are near enough to an Octy

edit 2: deleted some bad advice.

this is helpful...

And I would be right in thinking they are also the cam carrier bolts?

Having never pulled one apart I hadn't thought of that but the positioning of the bolts suggests you are right.  Therefore, new fasteners needed.

Well spotted.

Well spotted.

Also would require engine timing chain removal etc.

Depends on which seal is being replaced
