Has anyone had armrest/cruise control recently fitted at a Skoda main dealer?

Featured Replies

As per the title, has anyone had these fitted on a Mk2 Fabia this year?

I recently purchased a 2013 mk2 vrs and the dealer I purchased from has said cruise control cannot be retrofitted?! and the armrest has been discontinued...

My local dealer has quoted me for both parts and I'm waiting to see if they can confirm these options.

RRP £340 for cruise control, £178 for armrest fitted.

Thanks

I normally charge £330 for cruise control, currently on offer for £300

Cruise Control Retrofits

You could possibly justify the £340 for cruise control if its from a dealer and they provide a new BCM and requires coding  however £178 for a cheap armrest that the top cover will more than likely snap within a few months.... Might not be worth it but each to their own.

Takes half an hour to fit the armrest its that simple.

Knowing how much the kits cost and the time it takes to do it I can honestly see why some dealers won't bother unless it s a deal clincher. They will no doubt end up losing money on it on a retail labour rate.

Having just done my cruise control and again as said above knowing what the kit costs and whats involved.........add to that the dealers labour rate taken into account, it's (dare I say it) pretty good value for cruise so agree why some would not want to bother.

ANYTHING can be retro-fitted.......it just depends on the phyiscal needs of which parts, what they cost and if they have a guy who can do it.....

Just fitted it to my 2013 MY and did not even need the new body module, I doubt you will either.

PS I would fit the armrest yourself, there is a guide on here and its pretty straight forward.............was not aware it was discontinued....

From a dealer point of view they can only retrofit something that has a type approved warrantable kit provides by Skoda.

I understand that, so why say its not possible, ALL the information is on their systems..........it worries me when dealers don't know simple stuff.

As I said I know my local dealer just say it’s not possible as they have done them in the past and it’s taken them longer that the book time and they lose money on the job.

So why not say, we don't do it anymore.......... if we do, we will charge £500

As an accessory it has an attached labour time with it that to keep in line with brand standard they should keep too.

I got both done at a main dealer £330 for cruise, £130 for the arm rest.

This in mind, they should simply state they don't do it as its not economically viable. The truth is best as then you can either offer to pay a better price or go elsewhere! Being told it is not possible is a lie and a lie leads to mis-trust!

I've just bought and armrest of ebay good kit fits nice looks factory £45 took ten mins to fit 😁
