Hello From CZ (kinda)

Featured Replies

Howdy everyone,

I'm an American from texas living in CZ and I bought a funny german designed "ish"..... Czech car that I have no idea how to work on.

I have owned jeeps, dodges, Hondas, mercs, spent time as a BMW tech and I have rebuilt a few bikes in my time but this 2.0-liter diesel *cleans tongue* ugh *shudder* (just sounds dirty)  is new for me.

I have a let's see if I get this right, 2012 Octavia Kombi II facelift with the 2.0-liter TDI and the 6 speed DSG and 133k km on the clock. She has the swing sound system (coming out soon) and the cloth with aluminum accents? and full automatic A/C... no sunroof. She is pearly white and I just finished a full wash/clay bar/wash/polish/wash/polish/wash/wax/carnauba wax job and she almost looks brand new (though, the rock chips on the front need some love)

I have a million questions and I don't trust mechanics who collect checks from the manufacturers. I worked with the guys at BMW, don't trust any of em ......you know who you are and what you did...... *squinty eyes*.

I do almost all of my own work and I love to post how-tos for others.

Going to try and figure out this as I go. the first step is the DSG flush and fill, followed by likely a DMF change with clutchplates and probably while that happening doing a full timing belt water pump swap as well... from what I have seen none of these are extremely difficult, just time heavy.

anyway ill keep yall updated on the "Shaggin Wagon" and what sort of adventures we get into.

Thanks guys/gals,
