UK16"SpecialBuildClub

My aged memory was eventually jogged by another current/recent topic and I find that it's four years since our anniversary was last celebrated.

OK I know this threads now getting a little long in the tooth but having just hit the second anniversary of joining the UK 16" Special Build Club (May 29th 2013) I was just wondering who is still left from this elite group and still on the forum and whether we have any new members who don't realise they have joined! So, if you have a pre-loved SE or Elegance Classic Yeti and are wondering why your wheels look smaller than other people's, then hold your head up high - you've got a car that beat the system!!

Some members have moved on, some now have other Škoda models.  There are at least three of us still around, one or two with their second or third Yeti, but I wonder just how many of the original ten members still look in - and are perhaps still eligible!  This was us, who are we now?:

Just out of interest, guys!

Please, please - don't start the discussion yet again!  It was all "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."

Not a member of the special wheel club, but I did go with a 2014 Greenline as my second Yeti and that had 16” as standard, and I have 16” steel winter tyres for current car.

Just to update I changed my 2012 Yeti for a new 1.2 DSG SEL in 2017 again Spec'd with 16" wheels. Skoda UK were brilliant in both cases intercepting the Dealer order with the factory and converting to 16" wheels.

What's this all about? 🤔 I feel like I turned over two pages at once

Still here and still very happy with my 2013 1.2 Elegance. In six years apart from routine servicing all that it has had done is replace the broken oil breather valve (to the tune of £8 and 10 minutes under the bonnet) and a set of new tyres - the Michelin Cross Climate (on my 16" wheels) which I highly recommend after around 25,000 miles on them with little sign of wear.  And as I record  my mileage on a fill-to-fill basis I can claim an honest low to mid 40mpg in my day to day driving. Having taken the worst of the depreciation  with the ca very reliable and still, six years on, fun to drive I really can't see any reason to change my Yeti for anything else in the foreseeable future.

My thanks go out to those early Yeti drivers whose contributions to this forum convinced me a Yeti was the right thing to buy (and subsequently patiently explained what some of those strange knobs and levers actually did).
