Owners manual

Featured Replies

Hi I'm trying to find a owners manual for my 58 plate skoda octavia classic tdi. I've been on loads of sites but I don't know weather it's a mark 1 or 2 I've been on skoda site downloaded both but the instrument panels don't look right is there a number I can tap in to find what manual I need thanks

A 58 plate could be either MK1 or 2  an external picture of your car would be conclusive

The chassis number should give some idea too and it’s on the windscreen on mk2

TMBBS21Z.....

The 1Z is in relation to the type it is, I believe. So without posting your whole number here. What are those 2 digits?

As gav says -

A 1u is chassis code for a mk1 octavia.

1z is a mk2 octy.

Sounds like a MK1 so it should look like these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Škoda_Octavia#First_generation_(Typ_1U;_1996–2004)

Owners manual can be downloaded from Skoda here: https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Model/Octavia_1U

The MK2 is slightly more rounded: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Škoda_Octavia#Second_generation_(Typ_1Z;_2004–2013)

Owners manual can be downloaded from Skoda here: https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Model/Octavia_1Z

Did you look at the pictures in the wiki articles?

You could also post an picture of your car :)

If it says 1u in the vin, then its a mk1.

Being a 58 plate means its a "tour" spec, run out build model sold only to proven taxi drivers.

As such, instrument panel might have been upgraded, or a previous owner may have has cluster issues and replaced it...

Either way... its a mk1. Bet the engine code is for a 1.9 pd tdi chuckin out 100bhp..

Cheers guys downloaded manual had a rough day today after all the rain noticed 3 out of the 4 door seal leaking all done and sealed .is there anyway to check if it was a taxi as didn't receive any service history with it cheers

2008, MK1 1.9 TD& PD = Taxi.

How many miles on the odometer?

If reasonable then have a VCDS check done to show if the mileage logged by the ECU concurs.

Any help pls I'm not a happy girl sealed or gutter rubbers on car just had a real good down pour  all seals are dry but as soon as u open 2 of the doors it's wet through on the trim were it meets the carpet any advice cheers guys and gals

Take the door trim off and check the inner door membranes are sealed correctly.

Sounds like the water is coming through the door itself.

Yup... door membranes (the plastic sheeting you see once the door card is off.

Quite often cut to ribbons or torn to shreds when a regulator is changed.
