So mid upgrade and already I have occurred some problem and wondering if anyone knows a fix.

 

1- I can’t fully remove the MIB 2 control unit, the wires are secured by a strap which I can’t seem to reach. I think it was added when my dash speaker unit was replaced but not too sure.

 

2- The upgraded screen doesn’t doesn’t seem to sit flush or stable enough as the aluminium trim panel that runs across has curved shape vs the angular shape of the new screen. This is likely to be user error but tried various positions without any luck.

 

Next stop will be paying someone to do it.

Did you solve the problem ? I'm wondering right now about change of LCD only for now and can't find any info is it possible or not. 

Will it work with Amundsen central unit?

yep managed to clear all the issues and happily using the upgrades screen.

 

Things to consider: 

 

You need both the screen + upgraded  control unit (2.5 MIB)

 

you need to find a place to remove the component protection for you. ( luckily my dealer was able to do it but most dealer don’t )

 

I spoke with my dealer and they will handle that. 

I'm just wondering do you have list of devices of MIB 2 and 2.5 (LCD and units) to not mix them ? In mine 2020 skoda for sure there is 2.5 but I don't want to mix it with 2.0.

Not sure what you mean by a list. I had Columbus 2.0 before but that doesn’t work with upgraded screen. So I had to upgrade the media unit to 2.5.

I think about exact part numbers that are ok. Columbus 2.5 and main unit 2.5 ? 

To be clear. Right now I got Amundsen with Phone Plus SD Card and I want to upgrade to Columbus with LTE. I do not want to buy parts that won't fit.

I don’t have the part number but if you look on eBay they usually sold as combined item and should have the part numbers there.
