Front Assist: No Sensor View

Featured Replies

I get this error message on the dashboard several times per day. However, it doesn't seem that it's random, as there are several places where I get the message every time. Most of them are related to slight left turn in the road. It's not weather related, and I've cleaned the sensor.

As I'm not convinced that the radar is broken and a new one is ridiculously expensive, I would be happy to hear any ideas what could cause this.

There are places that cause that for me.

Northbound Blackwall Tunnel.
Driving close to those new concrete barriers on motorways.

Seems to get confused by reflections from solid objects close to either side of the car, and decides the best thing to do is shut down until it has a clear view again.

Is yours a facelift with the higher sensor? Wondering if that is making it more sensitive.

I have the first Octavia III with lower sensor. There is for example one roundabout where I get always the message. It's somewhat annoying to hear the 'beep' ten times every day.

hmm. Never get it on a roundabout. Wonder if it needs recalibrating.

Have you had wheel alignment done recently? I know they recommend a recalibration if you have.

I don't get it with slight left turns.
