hi friends i own 1.9 tdi 90bhp octavia diesel model in india,the temperature on screen reads out by 5-8 degrees more than normal,where are these readings taken out, is this basis for E C U for calculating the fuel inflow & air in flow,? if so how to reduce this under bonnet temp does it help in increasing the performance of car ? any help please bye anand

I presume you are referring to the ambient temp shown on the climate control screen. This is the ambient temp outside the car and even my RS shows it higher by 2/3 degrees C. There are sensors which provide this readout, but don't know where they are located. Far as I know, this temp reading has no connection with the fuel/air inflow, because my car gives similar average in Delhi summer and winter, driving style remaining same.
