Octavia mk1 clutch

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, a newbie to Skoda here, although I've had VW's before. Just aquired a nice 2003 75k miles 1.6 petrol Octavia estate, needs a few jobs but nothing traumatic. The biggest of these is the clutch, which is not long for this world, so I'm taking the chance to get one in before it gives up the ghost. I've seen some good prospective candidates, Unipart and Drivemaster, both brands well respected for quality, but I've had no luck finding online catalogues so that I can confirm part numbers and fitment. Does anyone out there have access to these, or even the paper versions, and could look them up for me? The car was first registered early 2003, engine code is BFQ, transmission code is DUU. Please don't tell me to try ebay or ECP, "for they are not to be trusted". I'd really like the gospel on this.

Thanks in advance.

@Chippers Luk or Sachs clutch for a VAG car; accept no substitutes.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I am looking for a quality part, Drivemaster had a tie up with Luk, and I believe Unipart did the same with Valeo, that's why I need the part numbers. As I only have two arms and two legs I can't afford to hand over one of each for the same thing in a pretty box ....

first,i suggest you to swap your gearbox to some stronger cable operated gearbox, before that ****ty duu gearbox goes to pieces...i swapped duu gearbox to 1.8t gearbox, and it reduced my fuel consumption for more than 1l/100km on highway...
