LED driver advice

Featured Replies

Different topic and different light to my other topic / boot lights. And this is for home / input 240 volt use / under cabinet lighting (hopefully)

I have purchased a (12-24 volt???) 10 watt LED cob and was hoping it would suit the 12 volt output 10 watt constant voltage LED driver that I already have. (in AC 90-250V / 0.2A 12W // out DC 12V 0.83A 10W)

It seems however to be drawing too much current as it is using upwards of 20 watts which is obviously not good. What part of this have I got wrong???

This is the LED cob

One site seems to say if you have 12 volt cob then constant voltage driver should be used but I am thinking that i may be better with a constant current driver, so long as the output voltage is correct. Am I thinking along the right lines??? What do I need to look for???

Any advice on this, explained so that someone else reading it (ie, me) could understand it, would be gratefully received. I will continue my research too.

Thanks
