I’m at a loss, I can not for the life of me find out how to remove the MAF connector on my vrs. 

 

I would have thought it was simple, but it doesn’t appear to be. Is there something that I am missing? Is there a retaining clip or something that is broken on mine and that is why I am struggling?

 

I have tried to take a picture of the base of the MAF connector but it is slightly out of focus

Well that looked incredibly easy, I’ll have another go tomorrow I guess. For the life of me I couldn’t do it, but it was dark and raining to be fair.

I need to remove to MAF and see if it makes the motor run worse, I’m trying to identify the cause of my poor fuel economy

Good luck. All that's holding it is the little plastic pip as you can see here....

 

Thanks for the help, I managed to get it off, although also broke the plastic housing on the clip. In fairness it was very brittle so I don’t think it was my fault. Also I don’t think the MAF was the cause of the problems, without it the EML came on, the car ran badly and the graph in VCDS was a flat line. With it attached it follows the specified line with peaks and troughs...
