Automatic wiping in the rain

Featured Replies

A curious tick option on the infotainment system.

Automatic wiping in the rain.

Some state this functions when the wiper stalk is in the OFF position.

Some disagree.

I'm with the latter as during todays heavy rain the automatic wiping function (ticked on) only operated with the stalk in the first UP position.

I'm not sure what you're saying?

The option 'Automatic wiping in the rain' is the turning on and off of the automatic wipers.

If ticked, and with the wiper stalk in the automatic position (one up from off) the wipers operate automatically.

With the option unticked, the wipers don't operate automatically, regardless of the wiper stalk position.

+1 wat @silver1011 said.

The Automatic wiping will also trigger the headlights to automatically turn on too, if they r also set to Auto.

See my “Haunted Wipers” thread if you want an account of how this system shouldn’t work. It’s been working properly since they replaced the stalk a few weeks ago.

You have to put the wiper in the first up position to make auto wiper work.

I do not disagree.

I did read once that the auto function works irregardless of stalk position.

Would make the "OFF" position irrelevant then.......

It only works in the first (intermittment) position. Intermittent will be the way they work if automatic is switched off. Look in the handbook!
