Just changed to a Citigo....

Featured Replies

Hi - I've been here before as a (twice) Octavia owner.

Now I'm here as an owner of a new Citigo SEL 75 which I collected from the dealers today.

We've been living in a 5th wheel for 5 years, mostly in Portugal.  The fiver was towed by an awesome Navara V6 - handily with 550Nm of torque and 7 speed auto (needed for heavy towing!). It was faster than my Octavia 2.0 diesels were, but who cares!!!

I had then looked for a small-ish and economical car, and dismissed the usual bunch. Then I test drove the Citigo and put a deposit on one right away, being rather surprised.

Clearly they are slow, but they are roomy, well-kitted, have go-kart handling with supple ride (even on 50-section tyres/16" wheels), super-economical and are seemingly very well screwed together, slick gears and controls - what's not to like, now am looking at 5-6K miles per annum?

sssssh don't say it too loud. I found the citigo to be quite a peppy little lass. Never going to go to the drag races ;) But the open road, a bit of momentum; because you have precious little else, and you can have a lot of fun :D

I think they are a great car. Should go up in value if anything, given they have stopped making ICE versions.
