VAG-COM and the Polo Mk4 6N2

Featured Replies

Anyone have knowledge of what can be done with the 6N2, specifically the GTi varient?

I'm looking to buy one and would like anti-hijack, one-door unlock and alarm beep activating as I found them so useful on the Fabia. But I'm not sure if any of these are possible

Help would be appreciated

Cheers,

Steve.

Just about anything you can do on the Fabia you can do on the Polo as far as i know.

Just thought that maybe as the 6N2 was an earlier revision, some of these things wouldn't be possible. Thanks for that, will get hold of someone with VAG-COM locally when I find one then :)

P.S. See on UK-Polos that you were looking at one before you got the Primera - I now feel happy I'm making a good choice :D

I had a Polo GTi for 3 years... Cracking car!

Just make sure it's had a cam belt and tensioners (way before it's meant to) as the tensioners fail.

Also make sure it's had the pedal box recall done.

Apart from that, happy motoring!

You can't do as much with VAG-COM as you can on the Fabia... I tried making the alarm beep on lock and unlock and stuff like that, but the alarm freaked out and wouldn't turn off! eek!!!

I never would have guessed by your forum name Josh ;)

You've done good work with UK-Polos, it's a great site - it's been a very helpful resource for me.

On the pedal box, an issue I've read about, is there any way to check if it's been done? I guess VW would have records of which cars have been done. But they might not give that info out unless I'm the owner of the car??

Anti-hijack is of most use to me - might drop into the local VW stealer and see what they say. It's nearly next door to me, so I might as well :)

Cheers,

Steve
