Lane Assist Sensor Question

Featured Replies

Wife borrowed my trusty Octy the other day.

Be careful I say, of course she says.

Hour later she's home after reducing the pheasant population by one...

Collision has knocked the lower grill mounted sensor out of line, just wondering how its mounted to the car so I can try and straighten it up again.

Thank you.

TBF that probably really was the pheasant's fault.

Sorry, meant Adaptive Cruise Control sensor thingy

I'm not sure of this with the lower sensor but it sounds grim.

Don't you have a warning light on the dash saying the system isn't working?

I would have thought the system would need re-aligning rather than simply remounted.  The trouble is if the sensor is out by a fraction and it detects a car approching on the otherside of the road, it may activate the emergency brakes thinging you're about to collide. Someone may give better advice but sounds to me like it could be a wallet-breaking visit to the dealership.

A full reallignment costs around £600, hopefully you won't require that.
