Took my 1.2 HTP Fabia in for it's service/MOT this afternoon ( to be worked on Friday) guess what car have MD Keith Bradford have giving me ........ an Octy II 1.9 estate............ bloody hell a bit of a diffrence size wise.

Very nice car, but only can manage to get it in the garage.

How do you guy's with the estate manage getting your cars into tight spots,ie garages, parking spaces. I only have had small cars ( apart from an Nissan Almera) so it has come a bit of a shock. I do drive vans at work but it is totally different.

The estates are actually a bit easier than the hatch.

It's clearer where the car stops.

Has it got parking sensors?

It makes a larger dent in the garage wall:rofl:

Mine has got parking sensors which has been a great help since i went up from driving a Fabia, not sure how I would have managed without them!

The Octavia isn't that big really. Try parking a A8 in a multi storey car park.

I took my Fabia VRs in for some accident repair work recently after i stupidly drove it into a wall. They gave me an Octy estate as a courtesy car, and yes, it did seem massive. But after a few days with it i kinda got used to it, nice car.

They always give me a 1.4 sport fabia when I trade my fabia vrs in. Wish they would give me an octy vrs.

Have had a good run in the car this morning, you do get use to it but parking up at the shops this morning was a bit nerve wrecking.

This morning when I got into the car I was looking for the fuel cap button like I have in my fabia, could not find one so looked it up in the manual and it told me to press the flap on the left and it will open, it did but i thought not very good sercruity if it could be open so easily. Couple of hours later went to the car and relised the flap only unlocks when the doors have been open and closes when car is left for a while:) :)

I had a Renault Megane (new) and was told by Renault Liverpool that the courtesy cars were booked up for 9 weeks.

That's why they NEVER do any good in ANY survey. :thumbdwn:

Visibility is better in the estate than the hatch. Towbars are better than parking sensors ;)

Towbars are better than parking sensors ;)

    ;)

Try parking a Superb .....you need binoculars  and yes a towbar does help

Took the Octy back this afternoon, great car but until I need such a big i will stay with the Fabia's. Is it just me or is the turning circle very good for such a big car.
