car showing battery at 60% is this a sign of battery needing renewed as only just bought car 

Use the car for a few weeks and see if that percentage goes up, down, or stays the same. 

It's telling you how full the battery is, not how 'near death' it is. When your phone says 60% charge, what do you do? change the battery? No, you charge it. 

Driving charges the car's battery.  Lack of use, or driving mainly short journeys, tends to reduce the charge level.

the car was in showroom from end of April till I got it on Sunday drove the car from Glasgow to Belfast should that not charged it also stop start not working now 

Did the car leak driving cross the Irish Sea? - seriously though have you plugged anything into the Ciggy Socket as this is live even when switched off and can drain the battery

No nothing plugged in car was sitting for a few months so thinking its maybe Been flat and charged 

Battery will need a maintenance charge from a quality charger that can handle AGM and EFB battery types.

Be sure to use the bulkhead negative point for the negative charger lead. Do NOT use the battery negative terminal or you can damage the battery control module.
