Most of the reports IV seen suggest it is the 'apple' of car design with a nice interior that drives nicely but is overpriced and under-ranged.  Even the devout Honda fans IV spoken to have made similar comments.

But that’s to misunderstand it’s true purpose - overnight full tank and 200km city range........the turning circle is the proof.

It’s the Tokyo taxi/second car mission.

If that is so, Skomaz is correct - overpriced for a second car and under ranged for a taxi. For the money I cannot see many being sold in the UK.

All BEVs are pretty much a rip-off at the moment......except Tesla that is.

I don’t understand the Koreans and their pricing/supply issues.

LIke it!

I’d love one for the city but I’m not sure about the B Double/Triple truck draughts on the motorways.

Don't get me wrong - I like the exterior design (massively better than Honda's recent work - witness the Civic).  However, the interior is a bit 'meh' for me (I don't like the dash and huge expanse of digital displays - in the same way I don't like the new Merc's).

But regardless of the above, the range is too small (likely to be well below the quoted 120 odd miles in real world conditions) to cover what I might need one for (city based and commuting in from the suburbs but with meetings in other towns / cities) and the price is too high (you can get a comparable car with double or more range for significantly less).

Even the Honda project lead has acknowledged that they are hoping people who are into their 'tech' and 'design' will buy it as it's not a car for the city masses...

THey do electric?

Who said they had to be electric? They fit the "city car" use case, and the requirement of "twice the range (or more) for half the new price".

Those 'buying'  might be real Enthusiasts wanting the First cars or can just afford to buy, or are buying to speculate and sell for a premium as some did with the New Suzuki Jimny.

I suspect many will lease, and just 'rent' a car for a couple or 3 years.

£35,000 is neither here nor there to plenty of people.

Or paying the monthlies to have something that has a £35,000 RRP.   I can see plenty companies wanting some for employees.

Estate Agents / Property Let people in Cities and the likes.  Lots of scooting about inner cities and easy parking in EV spaces, for a while anyway until there is more EV owners / drivers.

The new Mini EV will be another favourite for Business / Commercial users in inner cities.  Or UP!MiiCitigo EV's.

{Plenty use ICE MINI's now, and not just basic cars either.)

Come on man. We’re talking about electric cars here.

Seems to basically the new future starting price for cars 28k. The Honda starts at £26 on hondas website and can be ordered. Cheaper than Kona and eNero

@TonyTonic

Those getting a car first at much cheapness will be lucky then, and if supply does not meet demand they can get a few grand extra selling with just delivery miles on from collection.

It will be interesting to see how many ordered are at the most basic with no optional extras.

PS

e-Niro is an EV, Niro a petrol hybrid and then the Plug in is a plug in and nobody really wants (even with low Motability advance payment..)

Looking forward to a Soul EV.

I know what you mean with the Kona, but then they are in different flavours as well , cheap enough small petrol engines cars just fine for those wanting to stay with ICE,

& a 'Kona electric' being electric.

(18-24 month old KIA / Hyundai EV's should be nicely depreciated and still have a nice length of warranty.)

If this is meant to be a city car, then the Citigo-e iV electric car can be had for half the money, although the £15K OTR is not confirmed yet. (or SEAT Mii or VW e-UP!) The price seems a lot for a Citigo, but by electric car standards that is cheap. The difference in price between an electric and petrol version will buy a lot of petrol though.........

Buying petrol even with small vehicles will not always be getting you Work Place Parking without being taxed as that is widely introduced, or even on street parking in some cities soon enough.

As to Up!MiiCitigo, they are great, can swim and dance and everything, what a pity that Main Dealership Employees and Customer Services can be so bad with Snagging Faults that are still issues as the cars are discontinued.

Lets hope they have some Quality Brake components on the EV models and better protection against corrosion.

7 year Mechanical Warranty, 12 year body and electrics would be nice, and Dealerships knowing what needs servicing when and for how much would be nice.

Maybe there is to be new recruitment and training at dealerships of people not with selective sight and hearing.

The Soul Ev looks like a good one. I saw lots of them in Norway this year. I think they were the hybrid ones. Good size and look practical a bit like the Yeti

@TonyTonic

There was no Soul Hybrids, just the Petrol, Diesel or EV with pretty poor range.

I drove one of those a few years back and liked it and got 70 miles before panicking and getting worried about finding a charger.
