Chrome pealing on DSG gear knob

The chrome plating on the Push Button" part of my gear change knob is pealing off. It has resulted in several sharp pieces of chrome sticking up. These are sharp and likely to cut my hand.

Does anyone know if the top part of the knob is replaceable, and if so any idea of the price?

It’s been covered on here before. Do a search using “peeling”
