Roomster central locking fault

Featured Replies

My 2008 1.9tdi roomster keeps unlocking itself. I lock the car using the remote, all doors lock but moments later the central locking unlocks all the doors not just once but 6 or 7 clicks at a time and only the unlocking motion. It mainly happens during wet weather. Anybody else suffered this?

Sounds like a wiring short probably the loom where the wires go into the car door. Open the door and try and expose the wiring behind the rubber sheath. Usually the drivers door goes first because its used more.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve now checked as much of the wiring into all doors and it all seems ok. Someone has suggested it could be the central locking ecu is damp, any idea where that is?

Check the hatchback wiring, where is it most likely to go on a Roomster? Most cars its the drivers door. There will be a central locking control module somewhere, usually under the dash / footwell area. Sometimes behind the trim next to a door. The motor is a sealed unit and pretty much not user serviceable. The wiring is a common problem across lots of makes and models, its bent and re bent ever time the door opens and closes. Try doing that 1,000 times with any wiring. It could be broken inside the insulation but your wet weather issue makes me thing the insulation is broken somewhere.
