Remove brush holder from rear wiper motor assembly

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to remove the plastic brush holder from the wiper motor?  I assume it is something to do with the tabs at either side but I tried a fair bit of force (with a small flat screw driver) and it just started to damage the plastic...

No takers? Someone must have tinkered with this, haven't they? Appreciate help if you can. Thanks

Mine is the same unit and part number but I managed to free up the brushes (not touching the armature was the reason for not working) by carefully moving the brushes within the brush holder until free.

I did not remove the brush holder.

ok thanks. could you reach them, there is not much space in there and they are at about 180 degrees to one another buried within the motor housing and brush holder?

It's three years since I did mine but from memory I used some pointed and flat small plastic tools to push the brushes up and down the holders a few times, but it was limited by the access. But even if you move each brush only a small amount, I found it freed it up.
