Thank you for this. There seems to be a lot of different materials around. Did you go for black? I have a blue Fabia and I'm thinking that clear might look better. R-

Wishing the guy that parked next to me on Sunday was using them 🤬 Another chip to fill in. Paint does seem a little weak on these cars.

I feel your pain. And like the high-energy stuff that flies off oncoming vehicles, there's essentially nothing you can do to prevent it.

Agree there. My bugbear [with myself] is when I open a door, being ultra careful but, the wind catches it and I hit the door edge against my wall. Grrr. R-

My parents actually went the other way, they park in a rather tight garage... so rather than putting protection on the car, then put it on the wall. My dad screwed in some large pieces of rubber/foam stuff so they just open the door into it every time without worry 😎 Granted on an exterior wall that would look potentially interesting.

I have cheap mats screwed to the garage walls.

 

When opening the doors to clean behind them next to a wall outside I attach a small protective sponge with masking tape.
