Has anyone successfully fitted 3 kids' car seats in the back of a Karoq with Varioflex seats?

The difference in length between a Sharan / Alhambra and a Touran in 321mm so just over 1 foot.

Benefit of the longer roomier one is you do not notice the difference when driving or parking but the sliding rear doors are just so handy.

Sliding doors are handy but (not that I have driven one) seen parked in a multi-storey car park or parallel parked on the street the look a tad massive.

Neat size compared to a Skoda Superb.

Easy parking as you are up high, then sensors.

It would be neat compared to a superb, most things are.

I'm in the same boat as DJ_EFK, expecting twins and also have a 3 year old so need a car that can house 3 car seats in a row.  Also would avoid french cars at all cost due to a couple of bad experiences in the past.

That leaves me with Touran and S-Max that are around my budget. DJ_EFK what car did you end up going with?

I'm reading alot of negative reviews about Touran's 1.5 TSI EVO engine, which is putting me off the car, but otherwise its ticking every box for me.

S-Max comes with alot of gadget for the same price as a Touran but i hear they are not economical to drive, reliability os questionable and also they depreciate in value pretty quick.

Keen to know what others think between the two car and whether anyone has had any experience with the 1.5 TSI EVO engine 'kangarooing'??

VAG seem very confident that they have solved the engine problems (for new cars at least) but be aware that the Touran is likely  to stop production soon - previous rumours about a replacement merging the Golf SV and Touran seem to have been ditched as VW concentrate on SUVs and iDs.

Ford are likely to be going the same way with the S-Max as they also are stopping production of MPVs in favour of SUVs.

There's a new BMW Series 2 Active Tourer coming soon - which will be larger than the existing one as it will also replace the larger and discontinued Grand Tourer.
