Up-dating Octavia MKIII Sat Nav SD card

Featured Replies

2019 Maps were downloaded from the Skoda portal after entering the cars VIN. It will be noted that only UK and near EU are now only 500GB and other regions are available so it would seem they have reduced the Map coverage to reduce download time. Presumably any region will work but I have not tried this out

They were un-zipped to a folder in Documents.

The Skoda SD card was unlocked with the card tab and then put into the SD reader of my Laptop running Windows 10.

The warning to run a scan and fix the card was ignored as it is important that the file system installed is not damaged.

The Maps folder in SKODANAV was cut and pasted (hold down CTL and select both files when selecting copy) to the desk top leaving the card blank.

The un-zipped file from the Skoda portal was then copied (hold down CTL and select both files when selecting copy) and pasted to the root of SKODANAV.

The Maps folder should appear under SKODANAV.

The updated card was then inserted into the LH slot in the Infotaiment system.

Turning the ignition on the display came up with reading navigation info and loaded as normal.

No personal setting had been lost though I rarely go further than France.
