boost issues

Featured Replies

wondering if anyone could help me please?

I'm loosing boost inbetween 3.5k and 4k rpm but it comes back in straight after 4k. also idles rough... was wondering if anyone has had this problem before and know how to fix it... i do have a split pipe which im assuming is some sort of breather... i was thinking on ordering some silicone hoses to see if that fixes it but with only having the car for less than 24 hours im wondering if there is anything i can do to help the situation...

thank you in advance :)

Thats not split, its missing! :D

get that patched up, fully sealed or replaced. If the idle is still rough, unplug the MAF sensor and see if it improves. If it does then get a new (genuine) MAF. If not then theres air getting in or boost/vacuum getting out elsewhere.

any fault codes scanned?

thanks for the advice :) i'm going to try the maf sensor tomorrow while i'm off of work (poor car has only been driven once this week) hopefully that'll be sorted. the EML has come on to which isn't ideal, getting that plugged in Monday to see whats going on, hopefully wont come back with to much :)

A hole like that in the SAI pipe will bring an inadequate flow warning eml without even considering other issues with the maf etc. Is the SAI pump still present at the other end of the pipe or has it been deleted as a simplification mod?. If it has been deleted then that pipe serves no purpose and is just a red herring.

If it was me i'd get the hole temp taped over to plug the hole provided the pump is still there, then get the car scanned for fault codes, as you could be tracing faults for quite a while until you clear the old codes and run a fresh scan.

hey guys! just a quick update.

turns out the o2 sensor that was fitted was faulty, so we replaced that for an ngk one. which has solved the eml issue.

and there was a split hose under the manifold which has fixed my idle issues and now is boosting fairly well in all gears.

only problem i have now is it's holding back in 3rd and 4th, im wondering if its because of the standard intake hose i have with the aftermarket filter?

im going to get some new spark plugs and oil to see if a service helps.

i've also been told that i need to replace all 4 shocks and my top mounts, so i was wondering what you all would recommend? i am going to be putting the car up to around 250bhp once it's done
