Brake creak question

Featured Replies

Recently had new pads and discs on front end of my auto fabia. 3 days in and I am having an issue.

when I pull up put gearbox in P (park) put hand brake on then remove foot from brake there is a creaking coming from front end. When I apply brake again it stops, remove and it comes back. It does stop but only after 1-2 minutes. Had a service and brake fluid change but still doing it.
any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

you on flat ground when this happens ?

Forgot to mention in original post:

it never made these noises before I had pads and discs changed only after.

Well then it needs looking at then where the new pads etc were installed. If it stops when the brakes are re-applied the pressure is pushing the pads back to the disc again, so the creaking "could" be the pads releasing.

It does sound a lot like a creaking door slowly opening which I thought might be the pads releasing slowly as you say but garage that installed them said they are not sure what the creak is.
thanks for info I will speak to them about it and see if they can take another look.

If it was mine, I would remove the pads and ensure the caliper slides and surfaces where the pads sit are cleaned, then a smear of copper grease added, re- fitted and go from there.
