Quality Springs for Scout?

Featured Replies

I need to refresh the suspension on my 2007 Scout, and I'm having trouble matching part numbers, particularly for the springs. I'd like to keep the standard ride height and improve on the ride comfort/quality if possible.

There are lots of threads here that discuss which springs might be cross-fitted to other variants, but I can't find one about the quality of said springs. Are they much of a muchness regardless of price, or is there any brand that rises above the rest in terms of ride comfort and component quality, an established hierarchy of manufacturers, if you like?

There are many recommendations for Bilstein B4s on this forum, so for cost effectiveness that's what I initially decided to source. I'd like to keep prices around this level (+/- a few %). The part numbers for the dampers seem to be a straightforward issue, but if I want to match them to B3 springs, that's the tricky bit.

My Reg is KM07 LDF, VIN TMBKE21Z978031410, and with Build Options damper/spring codes (PR-G07/2UB Front, PR-1JB/0YK Rear), and I think I've established througn https://skoda.catalogs-parts.com/ that my part number for front dampers is 1T0 413 031 FK, rears are 1K0 513 029 ET. Springs should be 1K0 411 105 DM Front and 1K0 511 115 CS Rear. PLEASE SHOUT IF THOSE ARE WRONG!  I'm happy to reduce my ignorance!!!

I've thrown out info requests to a number of suppliers, but of the ones who've replied that could find the Billy info, they've all said that the B3 part number for off-road suspension (Front:36-202287, rear:36-256075)  that matches the Skoda number (1K0 411 105 DM Front and 1K0 511 115 CS Rear)  are NOT for the Scout variant.  My understanding is that the Scout undercarriage is identical to the standard 4x4 bobbins (possibly with some extra bits of protective Tupperware), and it's only the bigger wheels that give the extra few mm of ride height. Have I got the wrong tree entirely on that?

BTW, if there are any recommendations for alternatives to the B3/B4 combo whilst still meeting the above criteria, fire away.

Cheers.

I swapped my rear springs for some Lesjöfors when it got saggy. 4285730 was the number on them, and they are the same as 1K0511115CT. Height is spot on.

4085719 is the front springs, and their number is 1K0411105DK/DL.

Regarding comfort, not sure what to say. Im on 18s, but can't complain really.

I can recommend Kilen coil springs, go to their website for find the part number for your model.
