Hi all, I’m Steve and I’ll be picking up my 2016 Octavia VRS Estate very soon. I’ve always loved the car but this model is soooooo good looking!

I’m coming out of an 06 BMW 530D so it’ll be a change, and before that I’ve owned various cars such as an Insignia VX line, Astra VXR, Seat Leon FR etc..I like the sporty numbers 😂

Im hoping to pick up some hints and tips from the forum along with any troubleshooting required too (hopefully that will be minimal!?)

Gearbox Emergency Mode

Last September my Kamiq 1.5 DSG 2020reg (regularly serviced) displayed 'Gearbox in Emergency Mode'. Very near home so able to limp home. Dealer took it in and fixed it under extended warranty. All okay until a month ago when it happened again, this time far from home. Switched off the car, restarted and all back to normal and drove perfectly. Yesterday it happened again and only D2 available. Started car today, no problem, all working, no warning sign. I'll be contacting the dealer again

I have a 12 year old Skoda Octavia mk3 TSI 1.4 with 155000 miles on the clock. It has JUST scraped through its MOT after repeated emissions failures due to carbon buildup. The mechanic has told me he doesn't want to see the car back next year as it won't pass again and cleaning the carbon deposit off wouldn't be worth it given the age and value of the car. I've read a lot about Walnut Blasting to remove carbon buildup. Would it be worth it in my case or is the mechanic right, and I should just

Hi, Bought my Kamiq in January from Arnold Clark on PCP. It’s a 1 ltr automatic. Loved the test drive etc so signed the dotted line. Been having issues. I’ve had a knocking noise from the roof, with the infotainment display switching on and off at the same time. Random juddery downshifts. When I reverse while holding the brake, it starts jumping about. Seems like it’s one thing after another. I’m a few months in and I’m at my wits end with the thing. Any idea wots wrong / advice please ?
